ViM can't kill a decent team unless they've got a decent BO warrior... so far i've only seen 1 decent BO warrior, and he doesn't do ViM anymore (nor do i... too much people that can't even trap properly :s)...
ViM= free fame unless you REALLY screw up big time

You mean, can ppl sink so deep?
"Lose to VIM" is a combo not possible, "VIM loses" is.

vim is pretty good on altar matches, as monks have to devote a lot of their energy to keeping the ghost alive; you can use that advantageously if you just wait for another team to cap.
personal anecdote: flying fortune cookies capped way too early, so vim rushes them while we sit back and our thumpers quietly gank both teams priests. easy, easy win at courtyard.

Not sure if you are referring to the same match I am thinking of or not (cause I remember a lot of losses at courtyard as this was the map that was always troublesome and we probably only won 30 to 40% of the time there -- halls was actually a better map for us), but this may have been the match where we accidentally capped with 8 minutes remaining. We normally attached the ghostly to one of our monks, but in this case one of our rangers took it and accidentally let the ghostly slip onto the altar which was not the player's intent. Our plan was to cap first and relatively early, but certainly not this early.
VIMway was troublesome on altar maps moreso due to their complete inability to interrupt the ghostly. In a holding situation, you could try to keep your ghostly up as long as possible and then once your ghostly falls keep your interrupters up and focus on denying the cap of the other teams. In some situations (i.e. 2 competent teams), your ghostly could die with a minute or so remaining and then both teams might even focus on wiping your whole team as well but interrupt lock each other securing you the win. This was never the case with VIMway. One VIMway plus one competent team spelled trouble for the holding team, because your team could wipe and then VIMway would lose as their ghost gets interrupted while the other team's ghost caps with ease. Facing two VIMways on an altar map was not so bad, because their traps would hurt each other as much as your team (oftentimes this would result in them killing off each other's heroes even after yours died) and all you have to focus on is keeping your own interrupters alive to secure the win.
My favorite VIMway teams were the ones that would lay frozen soil on 1v1 maps before you had even engaged them. Made for some very quick wins against these types of teams.

yes, that was the match. I saw the whole thing unfold, and I sat back and watched the whole thing unfold, though I do have sympathy for you guys, I know I've had teams where that has happened. Thanks for the win though, I was pretty scared to go against you guys and after that match we won HOH.

QFT, though a lot of teams were not running seeds, opting for blessed light monks and boon prots.
I should note that everything I post about vim refers to this weekend.

Unfortunately, I did lose a couple of times...
Of course I WAS running henchway for kicks all of those times.
It's all good however, for after losing to VIMway a couple of times we went back in and flawlessed a guild in my alliance when they were running balanced.

We actually lost to ViM once...
...with 3 Warriors, Stefan and 2 Monks.
After that it was mostly flawless against them.

I lost to it once in the begining of the event (promptly initiating a change in our WoH/Blight backline). Losing to it in 8v8 usually means the RC prot is going to get kicked for being incompetant, or that Warrior is going to get kicked for continulously overextending.

Perhaps not a joke, I suspect the OP just likes it when everyone agrees with him. And yes I also agree with the OP that Vimway is not overpowered.
